Following her property manager’s recommendation, Lisa called to request a dresser. Members of our partner churches provided her with a dresser and personal care products. Additionally, area churches assisted her with holiday food baskets.
After we spoke with her and shared more about what we do, Lisa decided to join the first Transformational Ministry class and loved it. She continued to participate in classes, successfully completing all of them in our program. When she learned about the Faith & Finance class, she told us she joined because “her faith in God wasn’t where it used to be and that she wanted to learn how to budget.” To this day, she credits this class with giving her the skills she continues to apply in her life.
Several volunteers also established relationships with her, connecting with her in a more personal, deeper way and supporting her as she went through a difficult period that took time to get through. When she was finally able to get through it, she says, “My Love INC Family was also a big part of me getting through it by talking and praying with me.”
As Lisa moved on to her next adventure, she offered this encouragement to anyone considering joining a class at Love INC, “I would tell them that the classes are a great learning experience, you can make new friends in class and with the teachers, and you will always have a great time.”
