Mid-Hudson Love INC facilitates three collaborative ‘gap’ ministries hosted by, and run by, volunteers in local churches. These ‘gap’ ministries provide tangible resources to clients which can help free up tight budgets and ease stress. These ministries supply Personal Care/Hygiene Items that cannot be purchased with food stamps, Linens, Towels, Blankets, and Pillows, as well as basic items of Furniture. Through a unique partnership with one partner church new Beds can also be delivered to approved clients.

Personal Care Items: collected from participating churches, held, and packed at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Fishkill, then delivered by volunteers!

These personal care items cannot be purchased with food stamps, yet are so important!  Each bag of items is packed specifically to meet the needs of the individual or family in need. Thank you for donations of the following full-size items (not travel size please):  Bath soap, laundry detergent, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, comb/brush, tissues, shampoo, body lotion,  toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, razors/shaving cream, feminine hygiene products.

To Donate any of these items deliver them to:

Supporting Friends at Class:

As people in need attend life-skills classes, support groups and mentoring sessions, Love INC strives to bless them with emotional, spiritual, and physical support.  Often, a bag of groceries, a box of cleaning supplies, a gift card, a bus voucher or cab fare can bring a much-needed sense of relief and reassurance.  Please contact 845-471-0102, #2, to arrange delivery.

Hygiene Pantry: Items collected from local churches and the public, held, and packed at First Baptist Church, Poughkeepsie.  Neighbors attending classes are able to choose from a list of unique personal hygiene items including incontinence products, feminine products, shaving products, lip balm, body lotion, band-aids, q-tips, and mouthwash.  To donate, contact the Gap Ministry Coordinator at info@mhlinc.org.

Beds INC: A ministry of Hopewell Reformed Church, collaborating with Love INC to deliver new beds. Please contact 845-471-0102, #2 with requests.

Furniture Ministry: we pick up donations when we can – this is a volunteer effort!

For many of us, having sturdy, comfortable furniture can make a house a home and give us a hopeful sense of place. It is a real blessing to deliver gently used furniture in good condition to an individual or family who needs it. We often need: kitchen tables (under 54”) and chairs, dresser/chest of drawers (under 60″), end tables, coffee tables, sofas (under 84”), regular living room chairs and recliners.

Please complete and submit the Furniture Donation Form (click here). The form provides information on the types and sizes of furniture we can accept. You will also be asked to affirm that the pieces are in good condition. Someone will contact you to arrange pick-up, which will occur on the 1st & 3rd Saturday MORNINGS  of the month within the following boundaries: I-84 to the south, Taconic Parkway to the east, HydePark/Staatsburg to the north, and the Hudson River to the west.

If you cannot use the form, you may also contact: 845-471-0102, # 2 or email furniture@mhlinc.org. If your item is not listed on the form, we cannot take it. Please include detailed information, including measurements, in your message.

Because we have limited storage space, we may not be able to take large pieces, or large numbers of items at any given time. Please note that due to allergies, we cannot accept furniture from homes with pets or smokers. Also, we do not accept sofa beds or power lift recliners. Furniture should be gently used, free from stains, rips, and tears, with no missing parts. Thank you for understanding.
