Mid-Hudson Love In the Name of Christ Prayer Update – February 2, 2010
Please continue to pray for all of our Mid-Hudson Love INC volunteers. Pray that we would always be serving in the Holy Spirit’s power and that God’s love would clearly be evident through us. We are very aware that the job we are doing is too big for us—but certainly not too big for God. Pray that we will indeed serve with Love, In the Name of Christ.
Please pray that God would bring the right volunteers for our pressing needs. Specifically, we are asking God to provide coordinators for our prayer ministry, our site visit teams, our furniture ministry and our household goods ministry—and we are also asking Him to bring us a volunteer coordinator to watch over and synchronize all of these other volunteer activities.
Last year in February we hosted a Cookie Walk fundraiser. We would like to make this an annual event. Please pray for wisdom and God’s direction for the site and date of our 2010 Cookie Walk.
Please pray for God’s guidance, protection and direction for our church liaisons meeting on Saturday, February 6.
Finally, we ask you to continue to pray for our clients. I will list several situations below. (I am changing the names, for confidentiality reasons, but God knows who they are as you pray.) We are in contact with each one of these families, providing resources, encouragement and prayer. We ask that you would join us in prayer for them. Perhaps you could read through the list and pick one or more clients that you will pray for throughout the month. We thank God for His good plans for each one of these precious individuals.
- Patricia is disabled and bipolar. We have provided her with furniture and household items. Please pray that she would be able to successfully establish herself in a new apartment after an extended time of living with relatives.
- Arnold and his family are living in a shelter. Please pray that he would be able to find a suitable job and apartment.
- Please pray for better health and an opportunity to go back to work for Tammy, a single mom with three children.
- Please pray for God’s protection and healing for Carlos, who has diabetes and mental health issues.
- Brenda has heart problems and is unable to work. Please ask God to provide for the financial needs of Brenda and her family and to give encouragement to her and her children, as they are all affected by her health issues.
- Carl and his family lost all their belongings. We have provided furniture, household, and personal care items to this family. Please pray that God would help them establish and adjust to their new apartment and location.
- Please pray for Leslie, a single mother of one child, and a victim of domestic violence. Pray that we would be able to build a stronger relationship with Leslie as well as providing the material things she needs.
- Please pray for Heidi, her husband and their three children. Heidi’s husband is ill and unable to work. Their newborn child also may need surgery. Please ask God to provide healing and peace for this precious family.
- Please pray for Bob who is in recovery and has just regained custody of his children. Pray that the relationship with his children would be strong and that he would have success in school.
- Please pray for healing and encouragement for Crystal, who has fibromyalgia and whose husband is in prison.
Lamentations 3:22-24 – Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him."
