Mid-Hudson Love In the Name of Christ PRAYER Update – February 2, 2012

 

We thank you for your continuing prayers for Love INC.  Attached is a prayer calendar for February.  We are grateful for a God who invites us to bring our joys and concerns to Him, and we are grateful for all of you, who speak to Him on our behalf.

 

One of our great joys at Love INC is that we not only pray FOR our clients, but we also pray WITH our clients.  We ask each client who calls us if we may pray with them.  From July through December, we had calls from 105 new clients and were able to pray with 98 of them!  We trust that God is bringing transformation through these prayers. 

 

We also send a “love note” to every new client.  We have seen God use these notes to touch and soften hearts.  We are always looking for note cards with Bible verses and/or words of encouragement for our clients.  If you have note cards you would like to donate or if you would be willing to make cards for us to use, please contact us at info@mhlinc.org.

 

We have seen transformation in the attitudes of several clients, including “Chuck” who would not accept our offer of prayer when he first contacted us, but now accepts our invitation to prayer with him.  We also thank God for the change in “Lidia,” who was indifferent to prayer when we first spoke to her, but now regularly leaves prayer requests on our voice mail.

 

One of our clients “Steve” asked for someone to study the Bible with him, and we have found a volunteer through one of our partner churches.  Pray that Steve’s eyes will be opened to God’s indescribable love for him.

 

Please pray for our Cookie Walk, scheduled for Saturday, February 11.  Pray that this event would be a successful fund-raiser and “friend-raiser.”  Stop in if you are able at Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (or until the cookies are gone).  If you would like to bake cookies for this event, email info@mhlinc.org or call 472-0102 for more information.

 

Love INC is a phone-based ministry.  Please pray for wisdom and discernment for our board as they make decisions regarding our phone service provider and contract. 

 

Finally, we would like to share with you an encouraging answering machine message we received recently.  “Thanks and God bless you!  I was so down about medical issues.  I have talked with my Love INC prayer partner.  I shut my neighbors out and other people, and I shouldn’t have.  Now I have had people stepping in to help.  I can’t thank you enough.  I have to stop feeling sorry for myself.  Thank you for delivering on your promises in the name of God.  Life is too special to lose.  Thanks for making me feel like a human being.”  Our clearinghouse volunteer called back this precious Child of God and thanked her for her encouraging words and prayed with her.

 

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  - Romans 8:38-39

Mid-Hudson Love In the Name of Christ Prayer Update

June 1, 2011

Thank you to all of you who continue to pray for Mid-Hudson Love INC. You play a vital
role in our ministry!

God has been answering your prayers. Several churches have contacted us recently to
inquire about partnering with Love INC. God has provided a storage space for donated
furniture and household items. Clients are receiving needed items and prayer and
friendship and grace - all given In the Name of Christ.

Please continue to pray for us.

Mid-Hudson Love In the Name of Christ PRAYER Update – March 13, 2011

PRAISE GOD for His faithfulness to Mid-Hudson Love INC. March 16 marks the 2-year
anniversary of the opening of our clearinghouse. In those two years, God has blessed
us in so many ways - meeting needs, building relationships, and transforming lives. We
are grateful and humbled by God’s abundant grace toward us. Thank God with us for
His many blessings!

Please also check out our new Prayer Calendar. You can find the link on our home
page. It lists a specific prayer suggestion to lift up to God for each day of the month. If
you are willing and able, please put the calendar in a place where you will see it each
day (either on your computer or printed off and posted in a conspicuous place) and pray
for the need listed each day. We hope to provide you with a calendar each month, to
encourage you to pray for Love INC throughout the month. Thank you for joining with
us in this very important ministry. (Although we are already halfway through this month,
we wanted to get this prayer calendar out to you now. Expect an April calendar at the
beginning of next month.)

We will soon be sending you information about our Mid-Hudson Love INC Concert of
Prayer and Annual Report Meeting on Sunday, April 3, 3:00 to 5:00 pm. at Immanuel
Church in Wappingers Falls. Please save the date and pray that we will be sensitive to
the Holy Spirit’s leading as we plan this event.
