Helping Churches Help People

August 2017 Update

August, 2017

YOU are Invited to a Love INC Community Book Study!
Helping Without Hurting in Church Benevolence by Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert offers a practical toolkit based on sound Christian principles.  Poverty is extremely complex.  So is poverty alleviation.  When low-income people seek help, they usually need more than just material goods; they need lasting change.  This book offers “a practical guide to walking with low-income people.”  Join us on either Sunday or Thursday evenings.  Look at your calendar, and pick which group fits your schedule; then contact the host to tell them you are coming!  First come, first served.
Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. for 5 weeks, starting September 7, led by Liz Pavelka and Carley Andrews at 30 Daisy Lane, Wappingers Falls.  RSVP to pavelkain@optonline.com  or 845-297-4907.
Sundays, 6:00-8:00 p.m. for 6 weeks, starting September 17, led by Randy and Ruth Zoodsma at 25 Mockingbird Lane, Poughkeepsie.  RSVP to rzoodsma@hotmail.com or 845-462-0163.
