Helping Churches Help People

Mid-Hudson Love in the Name of Christ Update May 20, 2017

This year’s Annual Meeting and Volunteer Appreciation combined event (April 30) was a success! What a wonderful time for volunteers from all areas of Love INC ministry to come together, reflect on 2016, review our Annual Report, and celebrate unity in Christ. (Our Annual Report will soon be available on our website).  We also honored our individual, business, and church supporters for their generosity.

We are proud of our many loyal volunteers and excited to be developing transformational relationships with people in need. God is so good! Special thanks to Poughkeepsie United Methodist for hosting this event.

Love INC’s Summer Relational Ministry classes will begin soon; we can’t wait to see what God will do. At the end of the Spring series, one client said, “I got lots of good information and I have been working on changing my thinking from I can’t to What steps do I need to take?

There are still opportunities for more volunteers to engage in this meaningful ministry:

  • driving a client to or from class
  • providing snacks for the class
  • praying
  • and more

One volunteer said, “I absolutely love the transportation aspect of Love INC…What an awesome way to meet some wonderful people when your time is limited but your heart wants to help…This vital ministry is the right place for me to serve.” Thanks, Valerie!

If you would like to find out how you could help, contact Volunteer Coordinator, Jewel Ratzlaff, at info@mhlinc.org or 845-896-4126.

Mid-Hudson Love INC has been blessed to partner in ministry with Hudson Valley Bridge Builders over the years. Youth from many backgrounds and churches have delivered furniture, personal care items, linens, and love to Love INC neighbors in need.

Now the Bridge Builders ministry is bringing ‘Street Church’ to the heart of Poughkeepsie.  Come on down to Waryas Park every 2nd Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm and join in a time of worship.

“Always be joyful.  Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”  ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
