This year Love INC will host our Eighth Annual SCRABBLE® Blitz Tournament on October 13. We hope to make this our best tournament ever! One change, suggested by our players, will be to update our SCRABBLE Dictionaries to the most recent edition – the Fifth Edition of the Merriam Webster Collegiate SCRABBLE Dictionary. Would you consider helping us with this update? We need to purchase 40 dictionaries. We hope to find them at a discounted price of about $5 each, which would mean we would need a total of approximately $200 to cover this expense. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to make a donation.
We continue to move forward with our new model for Relational Ministry. We are planning to kick-off our first multi-church relational ministry classes on September 14. We are looking for volunteers willing to be trained as mentors for these classes. Training for mentors will take place on Tuesdays, June 21 and 28, 6:30-9:00 p.m. at New Beginnings, 35 DeGarmo Road, Poughkeepsie. For more information or to RSVP, contact Volunteer Coordinator Jewel Ratzlaff (845-896-4126 or email@example.com).
Our second Evening of Prayer & Worship was a success! Steve Jones, Board Chair, hosted the Annual Meeting and shared with attendees what Love In the Name of Christ accomplished in 2015. He also gave the testimony of a client whose life has been positively impacted through our services and relationships with dedicated volunteers. Our Reboot Leadership Team shared our vision for relational ministry kicking off in September 2016 and promoted the LINC program. Special thanks to Pastors Marlow Dunham (Changepoint) and Bill Hanchett (Immanuel Church) for their inspirational words and prayers. We are so appreciative of Rev Hunt and Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for hosting a beautiful evening. It was wonderful to come together united with friends and believers for a time of praise, prayer, encouragement, and fellowship. We are so grateful to all who joined us.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
